If a tree screams in the forest, do the other flora yell at it to shut up?
My court date is June 5. Then my name will legally be changed. Yay.
It comes with some mixed feelings. One the one hand, I'll no longer have to use the name of my abuser on forms and such.
On the other one, its really brought it home that I've been disowned.
Oh well. I've gotten rid of a lot of trash lately (you know who you are) and am becoming my own me in an officially recognized capacity :D

I've had some yummy poetry activity lately.
But I haven't written in a week or so. I tried the other night to work on something I'd started, but what was coming out was so bizarre, even for me, I had to step away from it. I'll do something with it at some point. Just not at this moment. It is the first time I've used pregnancy as a subject source. No wonder it's weird! Pregnancy is unnatural! Parasitic!
My cat just fell behind the television.
I have wonderful publications coming up in the delicious journals wicked alice, blossombones, Otoliths, Danse Macabre and the luscious on-off ECTOPLASMIC NECROPOLIS. I'm sooooo excited!!!
***
Also, I'll be doing summer school this year.
Computer Literacy ~ online, class in my underwear in front of the fan!
Fitness Walking ~ hurrah treadmills! My lazy humps need some fitness!
And I must start working on an audition piece. I don't want to use a monologue I've already auditioned with. I want something fresh and new but I have no idea what to use right now. I'll have to comb through the latest monologue books and see if something speaks to me :)

Vintage 20s bed-jacket
I'm totally wearing it right now while I'm convalescing from the flu.
This past week I've had to take Daisy to the vet twice, once with the initial UTI and today her follow-up. I've spent over $500 on her medicalities this week alone!
I want her to be well. Right now.
I managed to complete two new poems this week, with another one nearly finished (maybe). I'm pleased with my work so far this year and I'm hard to please. This is subject to change, though.
Tomorrow, health permitting, I'm going to do some film work as an extra on a friend's project. I get to be dressed for a night on the town at 10 am. We're filming at Landmark. I've never been an extra in a movie before; I've only done two short films and I had the lead in both. This should be an interesting experience for me.
Several play auditions are coming up and I've been extremely lazy about working on my monologues. Bleeg. Or reading the scripts. Arf. Maybe tomorrow's excitement will give me the needed kick to get moving on it.
And sleep would be lovely!

Arf!
It has been a long time, loves!
I've finished two acting projects so far this year: All in the Timing and Sonnet-chanted Evening. Two wonderful experiences! With excellent people!
I've learned my alleged "best friend" is a lying classless unattractive untalented toad. Bye-bye, bitch. (And may I note, unworty of commas.)
Poetry joy!!! I have work forthcoming in the succulent journals wicked alice & blossombones and the luscious one-off mag ECTOPLASMIC NECROPOLIS from Blood Pudding Press. Hurrah!!!
I've been writing again lately, not as much as I'd like but when the ideas start coming I go with them.
Daisy is now 7 & 1/2 months and weighs 10 pounds! I love my furbaby.
Pictures to come...

boo hiss
Well, The Beautiful People has been cancelled.
Oh fucking-hell!
This is the fourth show this year alone that has dissipated for me.
I'm starting to wonder if its some sort of sign that I shouldn't be acting anymore. :(
Bleeg!
This sucks ass.
And I feel awful for Phil. He did everything he possibly could to keep the show going. I guess the fates have other plans right now.
*
One wonderful thing is the arrival of my headshots from the printers. They are exquisite! I'm still in awe of them; I can barely believe they are mine.

Beautiful work, excellent prices, I highly recommend them!
